so, how do you make these things? do you have a mold or something for each of the images?

nope. no mold. no mass production here...
each piece of smallthings jewelry features an image that is individually hand cut and soldered here in the studio.

oh, so you have a stamp or something?

no. i use a jeweler’s saw to cut everything out. individually. by hand. it takes awhile.

don’t you get tired of sitting around cutting pictures out of silver all day?

honestly? sometimes yes. but mostly it’s still really fun.

is all the jewelry sterling silver?

yup. every single component of every piece we make (down to the last little bitty jump ring) is .925 sterling silver. that means the pendant, the chain, everything but the glass that goes in it.

how long will it take for me to get my order?

well, it takes a little while. keep in mind that everything is custom made to order. we don’t have a stockpile of rings and necklaces sitting around a warehouse. the piece that you order is being made by hand especially for you. so that means our turn around time is anywhere from 2-4 weeks, depending on the season. we appreciate your patience and hope it’s worth the wait.

the chain length of some of the necklaces seems a little short for me. can i get a longer chain?

sure! we’re happy to make sure that you get a good fit. please email if you require a different chain length. chain is priced by the inch, so we may have to adjust the price accordingly.
